Eminem Pens Scathing Note To Those 'Easily Offended' Over His New Album

Eminem's new album, Music To Be Murdered By, is set to top the Billboard 200 Album chart, despite the backlash due to its insensitivity on gun control. Almost a week since the surprise release, Em has hit back at the critics of the LP in wake of the criticism of mentioning the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing at Ariana Grande's concert and a lyrical re-enactment of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

On Thursday (January 23), Slim Shady, 47, took to social media to pen an open letter directed at the "gentle listener." "In today's wonderful world, murder has become so commonplace that we are a society obsessed and fascinated by it. I thought why not make a sport of it, and murder over beats? So before you jump the gun, please allow me to explain," he kicked off the note, before admitting that the LP is not "for the squeamish."

"If you are easily offended or unnerved at the screams of bloody murder, this may not be the collection for you. Certain selections have been designed to shock the conscience, which may cause positive action. Unfortunately, darkness has truly fallen upon us," he continued, adding that murder in the instance of his album "isn't always literal, nor pleasant."

"These bars are only meant for the sharpest knives in the drawer. For the victims of this album, may you rest peacefully. For the rest of you, please listen more closely next time. Goodnight!" he concluded. "With deepest sympathy, Eminem."
