iHeartMedia names Nate Bell as Program Director for 97.9 WJLB

Surrounded by current staff members of iHeartMedia Detroit, Nate Bell was officially introduced as Program Director of 97.9 WJLB and Mix 92.3 FM. 

Bell most recently served as Operations Manager and Program Director for WGPR-FM, WDMK-FM and WPZR-FM in Detroit. He has also held programming roles in cities including New York, New Orleans, and Memphis as well as with iHeartMedia in Miami.

“I’m really excited to return to iHeartMedia,” said Bell. “Being able to work with these two iconic Detroit brands is something I look forward to.”

Detroit – March 6, 2018 – iHeartMedia announced today that Nate Bell has been named Program Director of 97.9 WJLB, Detroit’s Hip-Hop & R&B, and Mix 92.3, Detroit’s R&B and Throwbacks, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Detroit has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing six stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.

As Program Director, Bell will be responsible for day-to-day programming oversight of 97.9 WJLB and Mix 92.3. He will report to Tony Travatto, Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Detroit.
