U.S. Flights Grounded After FAA Computer Outage

Airports around the US are encouraging passengers to check with airlines concerning interruptions in flights due to today's Federal Aviation Administration outage.

"We are performing final validation checks and repopulating the system now," an earlier FAA statement said. "Operations across the National Airspace System are affected. We will provide frequent updates as we make progress."

FlightAware, which tracks delays and cancellations, showed more than 3,700 flights to, from and within the United States as being delayed as of 8:30 a.m. ET, and 578 flights canceled so far.
