Michigan Orthopedic Specialists is currently searching for an EXPERIENCED Front Office Associate.
We are currently looking for an experience Front Office Associate (Medical Receptionist) for our busy Orthopedic Specialist clinic in Dearborn, MI. We are seeking an associate with at least 1-2 years of SOLID prior experience in a same/similar specialty setting. Individual will work in one or more of the following areas of the office: check-in/check-out, medical records, transcription, authorizations, ins verification, phone center, scheduling.
You will perform a wide variety of duties, that include, but are not limited to:
Greeting patients and visitors, answering questions
Completing the check-in process.
Answers telephone calls
Schedules office appointments
Obtains & processes referrals/authorizations
Prepares charts for new patients
Ensures that proper patient forms are complete, current and entered into the system
Processes medical records requests
Tracks and documents "no-show" patients
Monitors patient waiting area and straightens up as needed
Collect co-pays/balances and ensures balanced drawer daily
Obtain authorization & schedule appointments for outside testing
Schedules follow up appointments
Provide back-up coverage and assists in daily office routine when needed in other areas
Monitors and maintains front office equipment/office supplies
Successfully meets department specific skill sets
Works well with patients, physicians and other MOS employees
Complies with all standards of behavior set forth by MOS
Adheres to policies and procedures set forth in the MOS Employee Manual
Adheres to the MOS attendance policy
Follows HIPAA, OSHA and Compliance Plan regulations
Other duties as assigned
Must have 1-2 years of prior experience in a medical front office
Excellent telephone skills
Must be proficient in Word and Excel
Prior EHR experience a plus
Excellent customer service, team player mentality, with attention to detail
Flexibility with hours and must be able to work from our satellite locations as necessary
Must be high school graduate/GED
Graduate of Allied Health Training Program or Associate Degree or higher preferred
