Seeking Multimedia Designer (Detroit)
It is the responsibility of the Multimedia Designer to design and develop digital assets and concepts assigned to the design team. This includes animations, digital signage, social and web content and other interactive media. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures, within the framework and intent of the MGM Grand Detroit Statement.
Essential Functions: • Collaborates with the creative team in producing creative content for digital media including but not limited to: animations, digital signage, web, social, email and kiosk applications. • Takes and edits photography for use in advertising for both on and off property events. • Works closely with the Digital Marketing team to provide creative and effective content to meet digital strategy • Collaborates with developers to create efficient and effective interactive media for kiosk systems. • Edits content to produce promotional advertising for various on/off property events and sponsorships. • Creates new solutions for evolving brand and potential new brands. • Researches new media opportunities, enhancements and competitive uses of technology by casino/resort industry on a continuous basis. • Monitors and analyzes the competitive environment and determines market trends and potential risk. • Maintains and archives digital assests. • Enhances existing creative/brand guidelines across new creative • Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs. • Responds effectively to guest inquiries related to MGM Grand Detroit and the downtown Detroit area providing excellent guest service. • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • 21 years of age or older. • Bachelor’s degree in multimedia/interactive degin or equivalent work experience ( fine arts, graphic design, interactive design, animation, etc.). • Must be able to provide a portfolio with a reel of animation and design samples. • One years experience in agency or corporate communication/creative services environment. • Advanced knowledge of digital cameras and format printers. • Advanced knowledge in graphics software including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Animate, After Effects and Final Cut Pro. • Working knowledge Microsoft Office and HTML preferred. • Copy Writing Skills a plus. • Experience in multi-tasking of projects and project management. • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills. • Strong analytical and listening skills. • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information. • Ability to lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds at a time. • Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting. • Ability to work in an environment where pipe, cigar, and cigarette smoking is permitted. • Ability to function and act independently. • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral. • Ability to function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines. • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays
