(Metro Source) Michigan's food stamp policy is changing as of today. People between the ages of 18 and 49 who are considered able-bodied will have three months to find a job or lose their food stamp benefits. Those who will be impacted by the new policy must either work, volunteer or attend job training for an average of 20 hours per week each month. In order to be exempt from work, people must meet a list of federal criteria which includes being disabled or in college.
