Woman Arrested for Attempting to Open Airplane Door In-Flight to Detroit

Delta Airlines To Cut Flights And Raise Fares As Fuel Costs Surge

No movie roll there, this actually happened on a flight headed from Indianapolis to Detroit.

According to Detroit Metro Airport officials, a woman passenger attempted to open the airplane boarding door while in-flight. "We’re aware of an incident which occurred on our flight 5972 on Monday evening," Jon Austin, Republic Airline spokesman, said in an emailed statement.

The woman was then restrained by other passengers until the flight landed safely in Detroit, 6:45 p.m. Monday.

"While we can confirm that the flight landed without incident and ahead of schedule, we're unable to further comment as this matter is still being investigated. We apologize to any passengers who were affected by this incident.”
