Have you ever been busted at the Canadian border?
Kodak Black tried to take a short-cut to the east coast, but ended up with a long night in jail. What's crazy about this story is that people were calling ME, of all people, looking for Kodak. After his show Saturday night in Detroit, Kodak went off the grid - as in MISSING. Of course I purposely missed the show at the Masonic because of his distasteful comments towards the late Nipsey Hussle and his girlfriend Lauren London. But after further investigation, this dude was locked-up the whole time. SMH!
The 21-year-old Black was traveling with five other men, in two luxury vehicles, when they were stopped by U.S. border inspectors. The "ZeZe" rapper and his entourage tried to re-enter the United States from Canada after leaving his Detroit show Saturday night. Cutting through Canada saves drivers a lot of travel time on the road to the east coast from Detroit.
Customs and Border Protection agents found marijuana and a total of four handguns in the two vehicles, according to statements issued Thursday by the customs agency and the New York State Police.
One of the vehicles was a Cadillac Escalade, driven by Kodak Black, with a temporary California registration. Inspection officers discovered marijuana on the rapper, and after further inspection of the vehicle they also found a Glock 9mm pistol. No one claimed the Glock in the truck driven by Kodak, which could possibly fall on the rapper who is currently on probation.
The second vehicle was a Porsche traveling with Kodak's team with 3 other individuals. The driver of the Porsche admitted to having possession of 2 loaded handguns and a third was found in the trunk along with more marijuana.
A law enforcement source described one of the weapons as an "AK-style handgun with a 30-round magazine. It looks like an AK, but it's a handgun."
Kodak has been released on $20,000 cash bond.
