NBA Player Busted For Marijuana At Airport

Philadelphia 76ers v Brooklyn Nets - Game Four

Brooklyn Nets star point guard D'Angelo Russell tried to do what most people are afraid to do, sneak weed on a plane. NBA players are probably use to traveling with 'whatever' they want on team planes, not the case for commercial airliners. Russell was busted for marijuana at a New York City airport Wednesday night, after TSA found marijuana stashed in his checked bag. TSA discovered a can of Arizona Iced Tea that flagged the system. Apparently, it was one of those stash cans which stoners use to hide their marijuana. Sources say's Russell initially tried to say the weed belonged to his brother, but he was alone and in possession of the bag.

D'Angelo Russell was cited for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams), and was allowed to leave shortly afterwards. His employer - The Brooklyn Nets - released a statement Thursday afternoon, saying: "We have been made aware of the situation involving D’Angelo Russell and are in the process of gathering more information at this time."

Did you successfully sneak marijuana on a commercial plane and gotten away with it? Should NBA players be allowed to smoke marijuana during the off season?
