Detroit Film Company Seeks Outspoken People to Talk About Their Jobs

GM Reports 2Q Loss Of $3.2 Billion

DETROIT—Atlas Industries, a film and production company led by Detroit-area filmmakers, are now working on a documentary series entitled “Bullshit Jobs” and want to hear from metro Detroiters. The company has already produced three films in the metro Detroit area.

This new project is seeking local workers across all industries that are willing to candidly share their story about their job. To apply, candidates must submit a headshot along with a description of their current or past position to casting@atlasindustries.tv by Friday, June 28. All applicants must be at least 18 years or older. There are no physical requirements.

The purpose of the project is to gain insights into various company cultures and workplace environments. Participants must be outspoken and willing to speak frankly about their dislike for their position. Ideal candidates perform tedious tasks that have little value and do not produce any tangible product.

“We want real workers who’ve come to the conclusion their job adds no value to society,” said Sean O’Grady, director and producer at Atlas Industries. “People all over the country are stuck in frustrating, pointless jobs and continuing in these positions can have devastating mental and physical consequences. We want to hear about your experiences and share those stories with others that can relate.”

Since its start in 2016, the company has created content for a variety of clients. Atlas has produced work for MTV, E!, Oxygen, Food Network, Lifetime, Travel Channel and many more. The company recently announced that they will partner with ‘Bird Box’ author, Josh Malerman to adapt his ‘Black Mad Wheel’ novel and several film and tv projects in post-production, including Adam Rehmeier’s DINNER IN AMERICA, which was filmed entirely in metro Detroit.
