Trump Announces Tougher Guidelines For Americans To Follow For Next 15 Days

Coronavirus Task Force Briefs Press At White House

President Donald Trump announced new guidelines to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, including advising the public to avoid groups of more than 10 and staying away from bars and restaurant.

"If everyone makes this change or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus and we're going to have a big celebration all together," Trump said at the White House Monday.

  1. All Americans who can work from home are urged to do so.
  2. Americans should not gather in groups of more than ten people.
  3. Schooling should be at home
  4. Discretionary travel and social visits should be avoided.
  5. Anyone who is sick should stay home – and those who live in the same home as an ill person should self-quarantine.
  6. Older Americans should stay home and avoid crowds and eating out in restaurants.

The President's guidelines -- which he said are in effect for 15 days, to slow the virus' spread -- also include a set of broad measures that public health officials have been pushing since the start of the outbreak, including staying home from work if you feel sick and avoiding discretionary travel.
