Another attempt to transport illegal marijuana between two countries was foiled again, after authorities discovered more than a half-ton of marijuana. A commercial truck was stopped for inspection at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, Michigan before crossing from Sarnia, Canada.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the truck’s records indicated it was hauling office furniture to various locations in Michigan. Subsequently to discovery, officers found more than 1,114 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed packages concealed in cardboard boxes.
Since March 2020, border patrol authorities have seized more than 4,400 pounds of marijuana at ports of entry across Michigan.
