Michigan State Police: I-94 Crash Kills 3 In Detroit

An overnight collision on a Detroit interstate left three people dead and shut down the freeway for hours, Michigan State Police confirmed Monday morning (December 14).

Law enforcement officials believe alcohol and excessive speeding could have led to the fatal crash.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. on I-94 eastbound in Detroit when a Chevy Camaro rear-ended a Mercury SUV. Troopers were dispatched to I-94 and Outer Drive, WXYZ reported Monday.

There were two occupants of the Chevy Camaro: a 39-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman. The lone occupant of the SUV was 61 years old. They were all pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital, according to WXYZ.
