Chile Carlee Russel found guilty after faking her own abduction. I really had to dive into this story I was so confused. Let me sum it up for you. We all know back in July Ms. Carlee decided to fake her own abduction by calling a family member (brother's girlfriend) and 911 stating she saw a 3–4-year-old child walking up the highway wearing a diaper only. From there her family member reported that they heard a scream and from there only noises from the highway. Ms. Carlee was missing for 49 hours. I felt emotionally tied to this story as this story received nationwide attention. I prayed for a safe return home for Carlee. After learning Carlee faked her abduction really bothered me. She claims she was abducted by a man and woman, and managed to escape 49 hours later.
Now let's dig a little deeper into this story. Carlee was fired from her job at Woodhouse Day Spa for taking a robe, toilet paper, and a small amount of cash. There were no other reports of the child Carlee claimed to see walking down the highway. The math just isn't adding up for me. Carlee Russell was found guilty on 2 charges of faking her abduction. Bishop recommended one year in jail and $17,874 in restitution. Here's the catch. Carlee was found guilty by a Hoover municipal judge. Jury trials are not an option in municipal court.
