I meet artist all the time but I’ve never met one quite like Devvon Terrell. First of all, he puts on an amazing show. It’s full of energy, excitement, and entertainment that from the youngest to the oldest person in the crowd they enjoy it. His performance in the shelter was just as exciting as an South Korea Winter Game. Though he was fighting a cold, Devvon still killed it. He the true Black Panther lol!
Not only is he a great artist he’s a great human being. Devvon cares about his fans and people in general. I’ve witnessed him to help a kid who have been going through major things like social anxiety disorder and has made a huge impact in different. In Detroit, I introduced him to Noah. Noah is an amazing 11 year old kid who is like my little bro. This kid is one of the most bravest kids I’ve ever met. If you could of seen everyone’s face in the dressing room when he said, “I have cancer.” NO filter, he just put it out there. He left a whole room speechless for about two minutes straight with a smile on his face. Noah was having the time of his life and then it got REAL exciting. Devvon brought him on stage and let him be a star. He danced and had the whole crowd rocking. Though the crowd didn’t know about Noah having cancer they showed him so much DETROIT LOVE. After the song, Devvon paused the show to tell everyone that Noah was the braviest kid he has ever met and to make some noise for him. It took everything in me not to break out into tears.
I’ve been working with a lot of people for Noah and trying to make all his dreams and wishes come true. We've had a lot of success but, also we've had trouble getting some artist to do a simple FaceTime to say, “hey Noah keep fighting”. So, thank you to Devvon Terrell for making the time to make Noah's night a special one.
