If you remember, R. Kelly was acquitted in his child porn case in 2008. According to attorney Michael Avenatti he was acquitted because of witness intimidation, evidence tampering, physical threats and payments to witnesses. Kel's current lawyer tells TMZ that the lawyers who repped R. Kelly had the highest integrity and that Avenatti's claims are baseless allegations. Avenatti has been involved in the R. Kelly case and he has turned over new tapes to the Cook County prosecutor. In the new tapes it shows R. Kelly having sex with and urinating on a 14-year-old girl. Now, in the wake of the new tape several women have come forward claiming to be victims and have been interviewed. A grand jury has now been convened and the tape and various witnesses are being presented to the panel. We will keep you updated on how this transpires.
