Dr. Jawad Shah is the President of Insight Health Systems, bringing more than 20 years of experience in medical leadership and innovation. In this role, he oversees strategy, operations, and growth—guiding Insight’s mission to deliver exceptional patient care and transformative healthcare solutions.
With a deep background in business development and healthcare administration, Dr. Shah has played a pivotal role in evolving Insight from a single-location practice into a fully integrated, multistate health system. Under his leadership, Insight has grown to over 1,000 employees and generates more than $220 million in annual revenue. His strategic vision and focus on scalable, mission-driven growth continue to position Insight at the forefront of community-based care and innovation.
Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from the University of Manitoba and completed advanced training in skull base neurosurgery at the University of Arkansas. His clinical expertise includes brain stem surgery, vascular neurosurgery, complex spine procedures, and neuromodulation. He also serves as a faculty member at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and co-director of the Center for Cognition and Neuroethics, a joint initiative between Insight and the University of Michigan.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Shah is deeply committed to community development and youth empowerment. Based in Flint, Michigan, he has led numerous philanthropic initiatives and currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village. His guiding philosophy is rooted in service over profit, a principle that drives Insight’s mission to provide equitable care and inspire the next generation of leaders in healthcare and beyond.
