21 year old man serves 10 day for oversleeping when hw had jury duty

Deandre Somerville was summons to do jury duty over the summer and he was picked to sit on the jury but he never thought he would be going to jail over it. The 21 year old was to report for jury duty and overslept and was sentence to 10 days in jail plus a year probation and 150 hours of community service this was after he failed to serve jury duty Aug 21 Deandre was released Sunday and is scheduled for a hearing on Friday. According to ABC News Deandre works at after school programs for the city of West Palm Beach. He said it was his first summons and his first time being in a courtroom. He said it was pretty boring as he sat in the waiting room to be called for a jury. He was picked and told to return the next day at 9 a.m. to serve as a juror on a case. But the next day he overslept and when he woke up it was was past 9 a.m it was more like 11:30 a.m.and he said to himself I'll just go to my afternoon job thinking and hoping it would just work out but he had no idea that a no call or no show would has consequences. He was at work looking at his phone thinking what's the worst that can happen? He thought maybe he would get a fine or something like that. But no it a lot more worst, Somerville lives with his grandparents and was outside playing ball when his grandfather called his name and said the police were there looking for him. They placed him under arrest and he had to do 10 days in a FL jail. He said it was his first time in jail and he said he felt like a criminal and he said he now has a record that he will have to explain on every job interview and he plans to become a firefighter
